FAQ Update: Free Spice Girls Tickets Contest

Another option is to go to www.stubhub.com and sell these tickets cheap and I can guarantee that someone will buy them.

That's true, but isn't poetry worth more than getting the "cheap" amount I'll get back from the sale?

when are u deciding the winner, cuz we'd have to send those tickets to NYC whoever wins??

I was going to send the tickets out on Sunday to the winner. Depending on the situation, it may be easier to contact the final recipient from NYC and send the tickets directly!

Thanks for the questions off Kijiji!

Free Spice Girls Tickets Update!

So far, 3 entries! That's not bad for something a first day start! But my dream is to see lots and lots of entries that show and share the love of Spice Girls! I'm so happy to give free Spice Girls tickets to fans who will have a blast! Keep passing on the word!

For fun, I made up lyrics for a song I think could be a lost Spice Girls hit. You know how the lyrics seem to be about one thing, but might be about something else? Well, my lyrics, I call it... "Caffeine!"
Every morning, I get up.
And I don't know how it'll be.
Will I face a terrible day?
Sad or happy?

Waking up, without you near,
It's no way to be, in fear.
Will I have a possible day?
Go or shoulda stay?

But then I reach up to my counter, and I start to feel your power, and the hand strikes the ninth hour...
I find my caffeine

CHORUS
You're hot in my mug
I'll never get enough
And without you it's so rough (so tough)
You warm me up inside
Each and every time
I'm so hooked
You're my caffeine!!!

There's some people who won't take
Anything less than a latte
I don't need such expensive froth
Plain Joe makes me happy

Mocha choca latta ya-ya,
I'll take you as you are (reh).
With you in me I feel the fi-yah
I get along with my day

CHORUS

Bridge
You're the chemical
That gets me through the day
You're the stimulant
That makes me feel okay

Chorus out

Could you imagine this a hit? I can!

Not Alone In This Situation!

This link mentions how people supply outweighs demand for tickets resulting in HAIKU CONTESTS! (Well, not really... maybe indirectly?)

FAQ

Q. How do I enter?
A. Write a haiku and submit it as a comment under my example haiku. You must have an OpenID to submit a comment for two reasons: one, I won't get crazy spammers taking up space; and, two, I can reach you when you win!

Q. When is the deadline?
A. The contest starts Monday, January 28, 2008 and ends Friday, February 1, 2008 @ 11:59 P.M. EST! I will post the winner on Sunday, February 3, 2008. The tickets go out that day EXPRESS!

Q. What if there's only one entry?
A. Then that's the winner!

Q. If I win, how will I get the tickets?
A. Congratulations to the winner! I will send the tickets by next-day delivery! Make sure I can email you on February 3 so I can get your address and send out the tickets.

Q. Is this a joke?
A. No way! The picture of the tickets is on the side!

Q. What should my haiku be about?
A. It has to be related to the Spice Girls. Maybe inspired by a song, or by the women themselves. It can even be a great moment that happened while listening to the Spice Girls. Be fun. Be original. And enjoy what you're writing!

Q. Why do you have the tickets?
A. I bought the tickets before the Montreal and Toronto shows went on sale. Oops. So, now I have tickets for Montreal and won't be using the New York tickets.

Q. Why aren't you selling them?
A. I tried! I even put them up at cost. But no one wanted them! I have to admit, I'm a bit prideful. I'd rather put up a fun contest than sell the tickets at a steep loss.

Q. Can I buy the tickets off you?
A. Nope! My mind is set. The tickets are going to a haiku-writing, Spice Girls lovin' fan!

Q. So you're not seeing the Spice Girls?
A. I am! But in Montreal! I'm so excited!!!

Q. How did you come up with the idea?
A. I love the idea of the tickets going to a fan who maybe couldn't afford the tickets or realized at the last minute they wanted to go, only to find out the show was sold out. I wanted to do something interactive, something that would reach people around the world. I would have loved to have fans make videos or take silly pictures, but there just wasn't the time for it.

Q. Why haiku?
Well, I loved writing haiku as a kid, and I work as a freelance writer now, so it's my way to encourage more writing! The world needs more writers!

Q. Who are you?
I'm a freelance writer living in Toronto. I own all three Spice Girls albums and even own the SpiceWorld movie on DVD! Even though I'm in my twenties, I'm still a kid at heart. I prefer play to work and like life to be whimsical and light-hearted, which is why a contest is more interesting to me than a discount sale of tickets! Hmm... that's about it!
